Homecoming Week!
Homecoming week was so much fun! One of the class' favorite dress up days was "Dress like Mr. Henderson" day! They had a great time and really looked the part!
More Balls, Ramps, and Roadways...
Here are the 4 teams we had for Roadway building! These were completely student constructed! They learned to think critically and solve problems, as well as work in a cooperative group! Each roadway was tested with various balls, and they all worked so well! I know you're impressed!!

Balls & Ramps!
Check out what we did during our balls and ramps science unit! We compared size, composition, weight, and bounciness with many different balls. We also studied properties of motion using experiments with various balls and ramps. Our roadways were constructed over a few days...we worked hard! We had to figure out how to make our balls travel the distance of the roadway. How do we look?

More Clouds!!
We acted out a play to explain how rainbows form. The sun shines through the water droplets in the air, causing many colors to be showcased! Check out our awesome actors and actresses!
Don't forget to talk with your child about what they're learning about clouds! You may be impressed by what you hear!! We've done experiments like "cloud in a bag" to understand that clouds are made of tiny water droplets. They are also able to classify clouds as cumulus, stratus, cirrus, or contrail.
Clouds, Clouds, Clouds!
Our science focus right now is CLOUDS! I hope your children have come home talking about cumulus, stratus, and cirrus clouds! Here are some pictures of us making clouds with shaving cream! The big, puffy clouds are cumulus clouds. Stratus clouds are stretched out like a blanket. Cirrus clouds are wispy, like a horse's tail! See if you can figure out which ones are being made in each picture!!

Spring Break and Beyond!
I hope everyone had a safe, restful, and fun spring break! As we start back, our school will have testing under way. The SAT and ARMT tests will be given to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders starting on Tuesday, March 23! We have adopted Mrs. Ball's 5th grade class, so each morning of testing we will go in and encourage them! We will also make some cute crafts for our new friends!
Don't forget our upcoming field trips! Dress in comfortable shoes and your class t-shirt! Botanical Gardens (April 1), McWane (April 14), and Josie's Place farm (May 7) are sure to be LOADS of fun! If you are chaperoning these trips, make arrangements to carpool with fellow kindergarten parents if possible!
